For thy mercy is great above the heavens: and thy truth reacheth unto the clouds.
Psalm 108:4 KJV
God’s mercy is not only eternal, but it has no boundaries. There is absolutely no place here on Earth that God’s mercy cannot reach.
Psalm 119:64 says, “The earth, O LORD, is full of thy mercy…”
Who on Earth doesn’t benefit from the mercy of God? No one.
Matthew 5:45 says, “…for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.”
When God showers His children with blessings, a lot of those blessings spill over onto the ungodly. God’s mercy is great above the Heavens and His truth reaches the clouds. He cannot lie. His very nature exemplifies truth in all He says and does.
It doesn’t matter if some God-hating atheist declares, “God didn’t give me anything and I want nothing from Him. I’m doing just fine without Him.” No one does fine without God. We can’t live without the warmth of the sun or the rain that waters our planet or the air we breathe. And through his mercy, God graciously provides each of these necessities regardless of our continual ingratitude.
Psalm 86:15 says, “But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.”
God knows that we are incredibly ignorant about how desperately we need Him. Regardless, He loves us anyway.
I John 3:16 says, “Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us…”
And because of His great love, He extends an over abundance of mercy and grace toward us, for which we should be thankful.
