“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
Romans 10:9-10 KJV
In order to be saved from hell, (and go to Heaven) there’s nothing you must do except confess Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead. The church doesn’t save us; nor does religious sacraments or good works.
In John 14:6 Jesus said, “…I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
But we must remember that true faith is always followed by actions, and nothing else saves.
James 2:17-18 says, “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.”
Wait a minute, but you just said that good works doesn’t save us.
That’s right. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
Good works does not save anyone. Salvation is a gift from God. Then why do we work? To bring others to salvation and rescue them from the fires of Hell. We work because we’re saved – to serve God and show others the Way.
