Verse of the Week:
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
Acts 4:12
Encouraging Thought:
According to the Bible, there is only one way to get to Heaven. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6) Jesus is that way – the one and only way. It’s an incredible blessing to know that there is actually only one, sure way to Heaven and that God provided it.
After all, who knows better how to get to God’s home in Heaven than God Himself? Since He wants us to be with Him for all eternity, He tells us in His Word how to get there. And because there’s only one way to Heaven, we’re assured of getting there if we go by the Way that God provided. Matthew 7:14 says, “…strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life…” There’s only one way. His name is Jesus!
Words of Wisdom:
But the world says that there are many ways. They say, “All roads lead to Rome,” which means that you will get there no matter which path you choose to take. That’s a lie from the devil. Jump onto any Interstate in the country and it will not take you to any city you want to go to. You need to be on the right road to get to your destination. Likewise with air travel. You must choose and plan your flight because not every airplane lands in the city you’re traveling to. So why would Heaven be different? All roads do not take you to Los Angeles. All airplanes do not take you to New York City. All roads do not lead to Rome. And all beliefs or religions do not get you to Heaven.
That’s why Matthew 7:14 concludes by saying, “and few there be that find it.” Most people refuse to go God’s way because it’s too narrow.” They want to go to Heaven, but they want to get there on their own terms, and God doesn’t negotiate. You go God’s way or not at all.
God is holy. He will not allow sin into Heaven. “For the wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23a) Hebrews 9:22 says, “And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.” Remission means forgiveness. That’s why Jesus died. His shed blood paid the price for your sin.
Eternal life is a gift from God. “…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23b) To benefit from a gift, the recipient must accept it. This gift from God is available only through his Son Jesus. God is very specific how we claim His gift of eternal life.
Jesus is the only way to God. Jesus is the only way to Heaven. That’s why Acts 4:12 says, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.” (Acts 16:31)
