“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
Romans 3:23 KJV
Mankind was made in God’s image. Because God is a spirit, you were given a spirit. That way your spirit could communicate and fellowship with God your Creator. Also, Adam and Eve, the first man and woman, were created in perfection. They were perfect because God their Creator is perfect. Because of God’s holiness, He cannot have fellowship with sinful people.
So when Adam and Eve sinned, all of God’s creation immediately fell into a sinful state, and all babies were born in sin with a sinful nature. (Romans 5:12) Now we were separated from our holy Creator. Holiness can not fellowship with sinfulness, because by ourselves we can never be good enough to please Him.
So He provided us an Enabler through the Lord Jesus. That is the Holy Spirit of God. John 20:22 says, “And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost.” The Holy Ghost is called the Comforter and Teacher (John 14:26). With the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit, it is possible to live a life pleasing to God and have fellowship with Him.
Recognize today that in and of ourselves, we all fall short of God’s glory. The only way possible to live a life pleasing to God is with God’s help. And that starts by recognizing that you are a sinner and that nothing you do by human effort will ever please God.
Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death…” That’s why God sent His perfect, holy Son, who lived a sinless life, and died on the cross to pay the penalty. He died for you. The rest of the verse says, “…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Have you trusted Jesus as your Savior?
Have you asked Him into your heart and life?
Have you received God’s gift of salvation?
Because although Christ died for the sins of the whole world, not everyone will be saved. Salvation is a gift from God, and like any gift, it must be accepted and received to benefit the recipient.
Don’t wait until it is eternally too late.
