Everyone needs salvation, and people worldwide desire to see Heaven in one way or another.
Matthew 7:13-14 says “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”
Why do few find the gate that leads to life? There’s only one way to get there, and they don’t want to go that way. God determines what it takes to live forever with Him. And God is perfectly holy. Holiness is the most prominent and dominant part of God’s character. And we are not good enough by ourselves to get into Heaven.
Isaiah 59:2-4 says, “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness. None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.”
God is perfectly holy, and we are totally corrupt. Isaiah 64:6 says, “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”
We cannot compare ourselves to others and consider ourselves good. But how do we compare with a holy God?
God is just; sin must be punished. God is loving; He sent His Son to take our punishment. God is the only Savior. Isaiah 43:11 says, “I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.”
There is no one else that can save.
Isaiah 45:22 says, “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.”
He has the only plan of salvation.
He is the only means of salvation.
He is the only hope of salvation.
