It’s amazing what God can do through a yielded vessel.
A couple of weeks ago, our church celebrated “Homecoming,” which is the anniversary of its founding. With concern for the lost, recognizing a need, and expanding on a vision from God, First Baptist Church of Fairfield, Ohio, started the work on January 16, 1966, and Hilltop Baptist Church was born. Her first pastor was Jack Wren.
Hilltop Baptist Church has now been serving the Lord for 49 years. That’s almost half a century of…
- Sunday school classes and Bible studies
- Vacation Bible schools
- Children’s church and youth ministries
- Supporting missionaries
- Door-to-door visitation and follow-ups
- Leading souls to Christ and seeing them baptized
- Launching new ministries to reach souls for Christ
- Encouraging and discipling believers young in their faith
- Training youth for the ministry
- Guiding families into service for Christ
Just to name a few…
As a church, we’d had almost five decades to serve God through our ministries and faithfulness; to show Christ’s love to one another, our surrounding communities, and the lost.
But who gets all the praise and glory for all that Hilltop has accomplished over the years? God is great, and He alone is worthy to be praised. He is worthy because of…
- His Creation
- His Grace
- His Majesty
None is Greater!
- He alone is King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
- He alone can magnify His grace and mercy through Hilltop Baptist Church – through the leadership, the people, and the ministries.
- He alone can draw lost souls to Christ.
Jesus said in John 15:5, “…for without me ye can do nothing.” Jesus is the foundation of our praise. He is the Rock of our salvation.
We can’t live like the world and sing praises unto God. If we’re going to have true devotion unto God, we must keep ourselves unspotted from the world. (James 1:27) In Psalm 95:7-8, God offers an invitation to come unto Him, and it is open to all those who choose to believe in Him. Jesus said, “Come unto me.” (Matthew 11:28)
